Carlos Real is the CEO/President for Medallion Protective Services Inc. Mr. Real is a lifelong Oxnard resident and graduated from Hueneme High School. Mr. Real has been in the Private Security Industry for 13 years. Mr. Real’s first job in the security industry was as an armed guard for Bank of America in 2008. In 2010 his desire to serve the community led him to open up his own private security company, Camino Real Private Security, where he offered his services throughout Ventura County until September 2020. The COVID pandemic hit the community hard, and Mr. Real decided to close its doors and start a new business, Medallion Protective Services, with his wife. Their goal was to expand services in public and private sectors in Oxnard and Ventura County.
He currently holds a Private Patrol Operator (PPO) – (License #120875) license with the California Department of Consumers Affairs, Bureau of Security and Investigative Services. Carlos Real also holds a current guard card, baton permit from the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services, and a tear gas self-defense permit. Mr. Real is certified by the American Red Cross in CPR and First Aid. Medallion Protective Services is accredited by the Better Business Bureau.

Randy Latimer is a retired Commander from the Oxnard Police Department. For 32 years, he worked extensively in the community to address crime and the adverse effects that crime has on communities. Randy served on the Department’s SWAT team for seven years, playing a key role in identifying critical infrastructure facilities in the city and developing Emergency Response Plans. His outstanding work led to his promotion as the Traffic Sergeant where he developed security and operational plans for all city events, led his team to enhance traffic safety, and worked together with local, state and federal agencies to reduce crime and the impact of crime on our community. In 2013 Randy was promoted to commander where he served as Watch Commander, Professional Standards Commander, and Special Projects Commander. Throughout his tenure, Randy was responsible for writing department policy, implementing those policies, and leading his division in addressing crime and quality of life issues within the community.
With an extensive background in community-oriented policing and dedication to public service, Randy has brought his experience into the private sector where he continues to work with businesses and the community to address quality of life issues and safety. Randy is the co-owner of Medallion Protective Services, a local private security company. His experience as a police commander translates exceptionally well into his current role, offering invaluable services, including policy development, implementation, and training on security matters. Randy’s commitment to making communities safer and enhancing the quality of life of those who live and work in them is a testament to his commitment to public service
Randy is also the owner of NRL & Associates, Security Consultants and Event Management, LLC. He has brought his expertise in crime prevention through environmental design (CPTED) and controlled substance security and compliance. to the private sector. Randy is well-versed in cannabis operations and security. He prepared several Security Plans for incoming Oxnard Retail Dispensaries and wrote the Security Plan for the first Ventura County-Approve Commercial Cannabis Greenhouse facility.

Mayra Juarez-Real is a lifelong Oxnard resident. She has worked in the medical field for over 19 years in Ventura County. She received an associate’s degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences from Oxnard College in May 2008. She received a CNA certification from Ventura College in 2009 and received an LVN license from the California Board of Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians in 2012. Ms. Juarez-Real is currently employed by Dignity Health Medical Foundation as an LVN.
As a result of her strong work ethic and dedication, Ms. Juarez-Real received the Acts of Human Kindness Steward Award from Dignity Health in 2017. And, most recently, she received the Merit Award at Dignity Health for her services as an essential worker during the COVID pandemic.
Mayra Juarez-Real is currently the Vice President for Medallion Protective Services Inc, where she oversees all human resources and financial aspects of the corporation. Ms. Juarez-Real is a member of the Better Business Bureau and is currently a student at ASU where she will be obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Management. She is also fluent in Spanish. Ms. Juarez-Real is very excited to be part of Medallion Protective Services together with her husband, Carlos. She is eager to be a vital member of the Medallion team serving the Oxnard community.
